Brandon, South Dakota (01/20/2021)... One of the largest purses for a USAC National event in 2021 is set to be run at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota. The Huset's Speedway USAC Nationals will feature the USAC National Midgets and Sprint Cars, September 10-12.
The final night of racing will pay $20,000 to the winners and a total purse of $200,000. Matt Wood, who is promoting the event is no stranger to putting on high-profile races. Wood also promoted the $32,000 to win, 2019 Hangtown 100, at Placerville Speedway in California. The event was canceled in 2020 but the 2021 edition is a go so far.
The last time the USAC National Sprint Cars hit the 3/8ths mile track was when Chad Boespflug swept a weekend in 2016. For the midgets though, you have to dig a little deeper into the time machine. Kenny Irwin Jr won the last time the USAC National Midgets took to Huset's back in 1996.
