The 37th running of the Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway (OH) has been rescheduled for 2021. World of Outlaws and Eldora officials released the news on Friday, June 26. They confirmed that the Ohio Department of Health's orders restricted them from having large crowds and gatherings.
Eldora and World of Outlaws officials worked with Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, the Ohio Department of Health, and the Darke County General Health District to establish a plan of 50 percent spectator return for July and August. But with Ohio's current state orders and no reopening direction put in place by Responsible RestartOhio, spectators remained banned from large forums.
The Kings Royal was originally scheduled for July 15-18. If you had tickets, passes, or credentials, they should be kept because they will be honored for the new date in July.
The inaugural Kings Royal was held in 1984 and won by Steve Kinser who took home $50,000. Kinser also has the most A-Main starts making all but the last five Kings Royal's. Last year's winner was Brad Sweet who won his second, his other being in 2013. Last year Sweet took home $175,000 and made it Kasey Kahne Racing's third time winning the Kings Royal.
