Three Tracks to Race This Weekend Amid COVID-19 Pandemic


Three tracks are set to run this weekend, Park Jefferson International Speedway in South Dakota, BIG O Speedway in Ennis, Texas, and The New Raceway Park also in South Dakota. All three tracks will be taking social distancing precautions and following state recommendations. The races will also be able to be watched on select pay-per-view services.


Park Jefferson International Speedway on Saturday, April 25, is hosting 410 Sprint Cars for $5,000 to Win and IMCA Modifieds for $1,000 to Win. Only 32 cars per class will be allowed to enter with a $50 preregistration fee. Teams are limited to ten people per car number. The concession stand will not open so fans and teams are welcome to bring their own food and beverage. A limited number of tickets for $25 each were available to the public, as they are currently sold out. If you cannot make it, you can tune into SpeedShiftTV for the live broadcast. Some notable drivers in the field for the Sprints are Ian Madsen, Aaron Reutzel, and Kerry Madsen. For the Modifieds, some notable drivers are Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace. EDIT: Park Jefferson Internaitional Speedway made a statement Thursday morning saying that fans will no longer be allowed to attend. If you have a ticket then a e-mail will be sent to your about refunding your ticket.


New Raceway Park is running on April 26 having IMCA Modifieds, IMSA Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Hobby Stocks, and IMSA Sport Compacts. All 700 people in the grandstands are required to use face masks. If they do not comply they will be forced to leave the premises. Only ten crew members per car. BIG O Speedway on April 25 is hosting $750-to-WIN USRA Modifieds, USRA Factory Stocks, Eco Mods, Non-Wing Sprints, Hornets, and Thunder Cars. Tune in to racexr.com at 7 P.M. to catch the action.
