World of Outlaws to Return Racing at Knoxville, Boone

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series and the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series are set to be back in action very soon. The WoO Sprints are officially back to racing at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa on May 8th. Then the next weekend WoO Late Models are back at Boone Speedway in Boone, Iowa on May 15th.


Both events are invitation-only or for full-time World of Outlaws competitors. Each event will have 48 cars, mixed with local, and national stars. Drivers are selected through a certain process, if a driver currently is or finished in the top 18 of the WoO 2019/2020 points standings, Knoxville Raceway (2019), DIRTcar Late Model National (2019), and DIRTcar Summer Nationals (2019) point standings. Any eligible drivers will be sent an invite and have 48 hours to accepts the invitation. The races will also be $10,000 to win with full points towards the 2020 championship standings.


Though no spectators will be allowed to attend the races, they will be available to watch on DIRTVision. The upcoming Brownell’s Big Guns Bash in June at Knoxville Raceway featuring the WoO Sprints remains on the series schedule. Also, the WoO Late Models Hawkeye 100 at Boone Speedway remains postponed and is still looking to be rescheduled.
